April 28, 2021Updated December 26, 2022 By Taylor Jasmine Leave a Comment

What gives these turmeric beverages a huge boost of benefits, not to mention a vivid golden color, is incorporating the fresh or ground root. Here’s a selection of easy turmeric beverage recipes to explore, including teas, golden milk variations, lattes, and bracing cold drinks.

Turmeric beverages recipes

Turmeric is a proven anti-inflammatory, and, due to compounds called curcuminoids, it has many other known benefits. It also gives beverages, hot and cold, a unique flavor twist.

On Medical News Today, Megan Ware, R.D.N, L.D., states: “Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric, and it has powerful biological properties. Ayurvedic medicine, a traditional Indian system of treatment, recommends turmeric for a variety of health conditions. These include chronic pain and inflammation. Western medicine has begun to study turmeric as a pain reliever and healing agent.”

Fresh turmeric

Buying fresh turmeric: Turmeric’s cousin, fresh ginger, is easy to find in supermarket produce sections. Fresh turmeric is a bit trickier to come by. Once in a while, I’ll see it at my local natural foods store, so check that source as well in your community. Otherwise, Melissa’s Produce offers fresh turmeric, and you can explore other online sources as well.

And now, on to the beverages. Thanks to the talented bloggers who contributed photos and links to their recipes.
